Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System in Cleveland is seeking a Registered Monitor Technician Reader to support epilepsy monitoring in the Neurology department. You will operate long-term monitoring equipment, gather EEG/video data, and present findings during daily rounds.

You will document seizures, map EEG patterns, and contribute to final reports. The role includes teaching new staff and ensuring patient safety, with an evening shift from 3:00pm to 11:00pm and a weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Registered EEG Technologist (R.EEG.T) with BLS certification.
• Two years of recent experience in epilepsy long term monitoring or EEG lab.

Responsibilities

• Perform long term monitoring of adult and pediatric patients using closed-circuit and digital audio/visual equipment and electrophysiological recording instruments.
• Present patient history and evolution, EEG and video data and radiologic studies in daily patient rounds for staff physicians.
• Describe current seizures and frequency.
• List current medications and results of previous investigations.
• Describe examination made during admission to the monitoring units.
• Map, classify an impression of ictal and interictal EEG/Video data.
• Write final report and detailed description of EEG patterns, seizure semiology, radiologic findings, mapping of ictal and interictal abnormalities and selection of representative EEG samples.
• Serve as an instructor for new personnel being trained to perform testing and care for long term monitoring patients.
