Job summary

Cleveland Clinic’s Neurological Institute in Cleveland, OH seeks an RN to care for children with epilepsy in a dedicated 15-bed unit. Join a supportive interdisciplinary team and build expertise in pediatric epilepsy and seizure care on a full-time night shift.

You will provide direct nursing care, implement care plans, monitor patient responses, administer medications, and coordinate with physicians and nurses. Growth in epilepsy and neuro-nursing knowledge is emphasized.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN).
• One year of current acute care RN experience; military RN experience will be considered.
• Current state licensure as an RN and BLS certification through AHA or American Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients with epilepsy and complex medical needs.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients’ conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families regarding care, treatment, medications, and ongoing needs.
• Develop knowledge and skills in epilepsy and neurological nursing care.
