Job summary

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) seeks an Education Coordinator for the Hospital School Program. This role coordinates educational services for hospitalized patients, determining needs, onboarding patients, and advocating for school re-entry planning with families and school staff.

The ideal candidate has a BA/BS in Special Education (or related) and experience with education law, IEPs/504 Plans, and collaborating with healthcare teams to support student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, Elementary Education, Secondary Education or related field required.
• Master's Degree in Special Education preferred.
• At least one year education experience required.
• Previous experience with educational needs of special populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate determination of type and scope of educational services for patients.
• Collaborate with treatment team, families, and schools to support re-entry to home/community school.
• Maintain ongoing communication with CHOP staff, families, and schools to coordinate services.
