Job summary
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) seeks a Professional Development Specialist to assure measurable educational outcomes aligned with program design. You will consult, mentor, and facilitate learning across nursing and healthcare personnel, driving learning innovations and improvements.
You will design activities, assess learning needs, plan interventions, and implement evidence-based education with a focus on patient care quality.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing is required or strongly preferred.
- NPD certification and active nursing licensure in PA/NJ are expected within specified timelines.
- Minimum 2 years in clinical, leadership, or education role in nursing.
- Minimum 5 years in an Acute Care Pediatric Nursing Professional Development role preferred.
Responsibilities
- Designs educational activities to improve professional practice and patient care.
- Assesss practice gaps and identify learning needs across departments and hospital levels.
- Plan interventions using learning theories and cost-effectiveness analyses.
- Lead implementation of education programs using evidence-based guidelines and CHOP frameworks.
- Coordinate orientation programs for new hires and onboarding processes.
- Support competency management and professional development within units.
