Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinate functions across the unit during shifts.

You will collaborate with the management team to direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care per policies, serving as a resource and role model to support exceptional patient experiences and outcomes. The CNC will lead staffing, participate in patient flow processes, and uphold standards while mentoring staff

Qualifications

• ACL Spt certification within 30 days of employment start date.
• BCLS certification within 30 days of employment start date.
• NIH Stroke Scale within 60 days of employment start date.
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN certification as a registered nurse.
• Associate degree required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admissions and discharges to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Participates in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care in the unit, with management team.
• Collaborates with subject matter experts and managers to foster teamwork for improved outcomes.
• Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
• Supports nursing strategies, including employee rounding and hourly rounds.
• Provides recommendations on interviewing, training, and staff development, including performance evaluations and, if needed, disciplinary actions.
• Assists with staff scheduling and manages labor to meet patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
• Supports inventory control and helps manage supplies and equipment.
