Responsibilities
- Arrive at least 15 minutes early, prepared for the team morning meeting.
- Ensure excellent patient experiences by providing timely, friendly, and personalized care.
- Build rapport with patients and their families, remembering personal details over time.
- Serve as a chairside assistant proficient in orthodontic procedures including photography, radiographs, impressions, digital scans, wire changes, bracket work, expander and aligner delivery, and retainer fabrication.
- Use orthodontic terminology accurately in chart notes.
- Operate practice management software efficiently, including scheduling and assisting with phone duties.
- Manage a clinical schedule of 12-15 patients daily.
- Provide comprehensive instructions to patients and parents throughout treatment phases.
- Assist with instrument sterilization using approved methods.
- Cross-train with the orthodontic team.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the doctor.
Training & Certification Requirements
- Dental x-ray certification.
- Proven experience as a dental assistant.
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization.
- Understanding of health & safety regulations.
- Ability to perform tasks like coronal polishing is a plus.
- Good computer skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail, organization, and reliability.
- High school diploma; graduation from dental assistant school preferred.
