Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• MUST HOLD A CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT (CMA) CERTIFICATION.
• Current CPR/BLS certification is required.
• Experience assisting with Pediatric patient care and procedures is highly desirable.
• Must be knowledgeable of HIV, and Sexually Transmitted Diseases.

Responsibilities

• Attendance during normal work hours is an essential function of the job to ensure work goals are met and customers are served.
• Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
• Escorts patients to the exam room, and prepare the patient for exam
• Obtains patient history and chief complaint
• Obtain lab specimens, give injections, and perform routine medical tests
• Call in prescription per PA/FNP/MD orders
• Performs light housekeeping chores
• Maintains adequate inventory of medication supplies
• Place pharmacy orders
• Assist in assuring goals and objectives are met
• Receives telephone calls, answering inquiries, and/or refers questions to appropriate staff members
• Performs other related duties as assigned
