CLINICAL MEDICAL ASSISTANT - PEDIATRICS

ROCKY MOUNT, NC, US

Salary Range: $16.00 To $20.00 Hourly

Position Purpose

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides clinical and administrative support to the Pediatric provider, assisting with patient care, room preparation, vital signs, documentation, and other duties necessary to support efficient clinic operations and quality patient care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Attendance during normal work hours is an essential function of the job to ensure work goals are met and customers are served.
• Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
• Escorts patients to the exam room, and prepare the patient for exam
• Obtains patient history and chief complaint
• Obtain lab specimens, give injections, and perform routine medical tests
• Call in prescription per PA/FNP/MD orders
• Performs light housekeeping chores
• Maintains adequate inventory of medication supplies
• Place pharmacy orders
• Assist in assuring goals and objectives are met
• Receives telephone calls, answering inquiries, and/or refers questions to appropriate staff members
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program. MUST HOLD A CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT (CMA) CERTIFICATION.

Current CPR/BLS certification is required.

Experience assisting with Pediatric patient care and procedures is highly desirable.

Must be knowledgeable of HIV, and Sexual Transmitted Diseases.

SKILLS/ABILITIES: Maintain Confidentiality; Good computer skills; Multi-tasking; Well organized with good oral and written communications skills.
