Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support the Registered Nurse in daily patient care. The role includes direct patient care, hygiene, mobility assistance, and monitoring across pediatric and general units.

You will perform tasks such as basic nursing procedures, phlebotomy, and EKG support under supervision. Ideal candidates have at least one year of patient care experience, strong English communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides age-appropriate direct patient care including hygiene, skin care, mobility, and monitoring.
• Monitors vital signs and documents patient data per unit procedures.
• Assists with phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen handling, and basic nursing procedures under RN supervision.
• Supports unit operations and equipment management and assists with related duties as assigned.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and quality care.
