Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Pediatric Care Tech for the Bristol Myers Squibb Hospital Pediatrics Unit. The role involves assisting with daily patient care, taking vital signs, and supporting RNs in a fast-paced environment.

You will monitor patients, document records in the EHR, and follow infection control protocols to ensure safety. A high school diploma and BLS are required, CNA experience preferred. Evening shifts with weekend/holiday rotations may apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Previous nursing assistant experience or CNA training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and provide nursing care, including vitals, EKGs, phlebotomy, and bedside care.
• Monitor vital signs and track patient health status.
• Document patient information accurately in EHR systems with confidentiality.
• Implement infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
• Support CPR and other BLS procedures in emergencies.
• Provide age-appropriate patient care and contribute to safe outcomes.
• Coordinate patient plans from admission to discharge in collaboration with the care team.
