Job summary
RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Pediatric Care Tech for the ER Pediatric department in New Brunswick. The role supports RNs with hands-on care, vital signs, mobility and personal care for pediatric patients, with a focus on safety and compassionate service.
The position requires a HS diploma, BLS certification, and CNA or nursing program experience is preferred. Shift is 11pm–7:30am, with 5 shifts per week and every other weekend.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- American Heart Association BLS certification required.
- Previous nursing assistant experience or CNA certificate preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with vital signs, ECGs, phlebotomy, bedside care and activities of daily living.
- Monitor vital signs and track patient health status.
- Document patient information in the EHR while maintaining confidentiality.
- Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families and healthcare providers to coordinate care.
- Apply Basic Life Support (BLS) in emergencies as needed.
- Support care plans from admission to discharge to ensure safe transitioning.
