Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Pediatric Long-Term Care unit at Children’s Specialized Hospital in Toms River, NJ. The Evening Shift offers a dynamic environment caring for infants to young adults with chronic medical and developmental needs.

You will work under licensed nurses, assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and participate in interdisciplinary care planning to support patient growth and comfort.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Certified Long-Term Care Facility Nursing Assistant certification and be listed on the New Jersey Nurse Aide Registry.
• AHA BLS Provider Certification is required.
• Candidate should have basic computer skills and at least six months of nursing assistant or related patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist pediatric patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding).
• Support meal preparation, hydration, and monitoring intake as directed by the nursing team.
• Assist with positioning, transfers, ambulation, and mobility using safe handling techniques.
• Provide individualized, age-appropriate care supporting development, physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to the licensed nurse.
• Document care provided accurately while maintaining patient confidentiality.
