Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; CNA experience preferred.
Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Responsibilities

Assist with vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, bedside care (bathing, mouth care, skin care).
Monitor vital signs and track patient status.
Document patient information in EHRs with confidentiality.
Follow infection control protocols to ensure safety.
Communicate with patients, families, and care team to coordinate plans.
Support RN in care and safety, including CPR as needed.
Collaborate in care plans from admission to discharge.

Pediatric Care Technician (PCT) - RWJBarnabas Health

As a Clinical Care Technician (CCT), you will be a vital part of our collaborative nursing team, supporting Registered Nurses in providing hands‑on care and helping create a safe, welcoming environment for patients. You'll assist with daily needs such as vital signs, mobility, and personal care, while helping RNs monitor conditions and carry out care plans. As a Clinical Care Technician (CCT), a typical day may include:

Assisting patients with activities of daily living and providing nursing care to patients including taking vital signs, EKGS, performing phlebotomy, assisting with bedside care, i.e. bathing, mouth care, skin care.
Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to track patient health status
Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining strict confidentiality
Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to facility policies
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and address concerns
Support emergency response efforts by applying Basic Life Support (BLS) skills such as CPR when needed in acute situations
Providing patient care, based on physical, education, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients
Providing for effective and safe patient outcomes through practice, judgment and critical actions
Ongoing communication with patients and nursing colleagues regarding status of patient's care
Participating in collaboration of our patient's plan of care from admission to discharge to ensure safe transitioning

To be considered for this CCT opportunity, you must have a High School Diploma / GED and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. Previous nursing assistant experience or clinical experience from an accredited nursing program is preferred or a CNA certificate. This position offers a 5 shift per week schedule (40 hours per week) from 11pm to 7:30a.m. and includes every other weekend as well as some holidays.
