Job summary

Advocate Health in Downers Grove, IL seeks an experienced RN to serve as Charge Nurse. You will lead day-to-day operations, assign patient and non-patient care, and ensure staffing aligns with patient volume while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Collaborate with physicians and management to deliver high-quality care and achieve patient satisfaction. You will drive performance improvement, mentor staff, and uphold safety standards across shifts.

Qualifications

• 3+ years nursing experience in acute care.
• Illinois RN license is required.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to lead and coordinate unit staffing and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assumes charge/schedule coordinator role.
• Assigns patient and non-patient care in a safe, effective manner.
• Maintains staffing requirements per policy and patient volume.
• Collaborates with physicians and management to ensure quality care and patient satisfaction.
• Ensures accurate reporting of census, acuity and staffing at set times.
• Accounts for Point of Care Testing and emergency carts in inventory.
• Ensures supplies are available via Lawson system and reports issues.
• Promotes patient safety and participates in safety initiatives.
• Contributes to performance improvement plans and outcomes.
• Provides staff education and develops competency checklists.
• Serves as a clinical resource and role model for Service First.
