Job summary

Central Oregon Pediatric Associates (COPA) seeks a Patient Operations Specialist to greet patients, manage calls, register patients, schedule appointments, and support portal navigation. This role blends organization, technology, and compassion to keep our pediatric clinic running smoothly.

You will verify insurance, document in the EMR, and coordinate across departments to ensure a welcoming, family-friendly environment with occasional evening/weekend coverage at COPA sites.

Qualifications

• Three years of customer service experience required.
• Clerical experience in clinical setting preferred.
• Intermediate and advanced phone, verbal and computer skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to handle a variety of tasks.
• Evening/weekend coverage at COPA sites may be required.
• Epic EMR experience preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service while greeting patients and managing calls.
• Accurately handle patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and EMR documentation.
• Coordinate communication across departments to support smooth daily clinic operations.
• Manage administrative tasks including scanning, forms, payments, audits, and patient portal support.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and organizational standards while supporting workflow and training.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

AHIMA RHIT, AAPC CPC, OHA HCI Qualified/Certified Interpreter certifications
