Schedule: 5 8s or 4 10s; day shift, M-F, on-call requirement
Perform daily clinical operations of echocardiography, including performing echocardiograms, entering preliminary interpretations, and covering all sites and shifts, including call coverage.
Level I: Demonstrates proficiency by performing routine and emergency echocardiograms, including 2D, 3D, Doppler, Transesophageal, and Stress Echocardiograms, as requested by physicians and in accordance with standard practices. Provides echocardiography services at all necessary locations, working variable shifts, weekends, and providing emergent call coverage as scheduled. Operates equipment necessary to perform all required procedures, utilizing ancillary devices such as transducers, digital networking systems, and offline analysis systems. Maintains equipment, performing minor adjustments and repairs, and reports malfunctions. Analyzes patient medical records to obtain history and necessary information for diagnostic procedures. Prepares preliminary reports for review and interpretation by cardiologists, including comparison with previous studies. Participates in quality improvement activities, evaluates procedure results for accuracy and technical quality, and maintains logs and records. Maintains confidentiality and instructs students, fellows, nurses, or other health personnel as requested. Attends lab meetings and conferences to ensure continuing education and professional growth. Fosters a collaborative work environment.
