Job summary

Centralus Health is seeking a skilled Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer to perform high-quality pediatric echocardiograms and support our pediatric cardiology team. This role collaborates with the pediatric cardiologist and reports to the Cardiac Services Manager.

Expect to work in outpatient, inpatient, nursery, and NICU settings, maintaining proficiency in cardiac anatomy and ultrasound equipment. CPR/BLS and ongoing education are required to ensure top-tier patient care.

Qualifications

• Active pediatric echocardiography certification required (RDCS/ARDMS or RCS/CCI or approved equivalent).
• Minimum 1 year of full-time pediatric echocardiography experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality pediatric and congenital heart disease echocardiograms in outpatient, inpatient, nursery, and NICU settings.
• Maintain strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
• Immediately report urgent or critical findings to the pediatric cardiologist.
• Document studies in the EMR and enter preliminary findings in PACS.
• Provide timely preliminary results to the pediatric cardiologist, prioritizing STAT and inpatient studies.
• Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure excellent patient care.
• Prioritize patient comfort, safety, and a compassionate bedside manner.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment.
• Assist with training new sonographers, students, or staff.
• Complete all required annual education.
• Deliver excellent customer and patient service with clear, caring communication.
