Job summary

Centralus Health is seeking a skilled Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer to perform high-quality pediatric echocardiograms and support our pediatric cardiology team. This role reports to the Cardiac Services Manager and works closely with the pediatric cardiologist.

You will operate ultrasound equipment, maintain knowledge of cardiac anatomy, document studies in the EMR and PACS, and provide timely preliminary results.

Qualifications

• Active Pediatric Echocardiography certification required.
• Must meet ongoing continuing education requirements.
• Graduation from an approved program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pediatric and congenital heart disease echocardiograms in outpatient, inpatient, nursery, and NICU settings.
• Maintain knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
• Immediately report urgent or critical findings to the pediatric cardiologist.
• Document studies in the EMR and enter preliminary findings in PACS.
• Provide timely preliminary results to the pediatric cardiologist, prioritizing STAT and inpatient studies.
• Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure excellent patient care.
• Prioritize patient comfort, safety, and a compassionate bedside manner.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment.
• Assist with training new sonographers, students, or staff.
• Complete all required annual education.
• Deliver excellent customer and patient service with clear, caring communication.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
