Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is seeking a Pediatric Behavioral Registered Nurse to join our team for three 12-hour night shifts per week at the Texas Behavioral Health Center, a new state-funded hospital in the Dallas‑Fort Worth area. You will provide nursing care under supervision, focusing on pediatric behavioral health and collaborative treatment planning.

Requirements include graduation from an approved nursing program, Texas RN licensure (NLC), BLS certification, CPI training

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved/accredited nursing program.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• 1 year of RN experience.
• Specialty areas may have increased experience requirements as dictated by unit or standard of care.

Responsibilities

• Ability to perform all CPI APS physical holds.
• Care for Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse age-specific patients.
• Perform and document physical, psychosocial, and emotional assessments.
• Develop a plan of care with patient and family involvement.
• Prioritize nursing interventions based on assessments.
• Coordinate with the interdisciplinary health care team.
