Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Attendant to provide non-clinical support for patients with behavioral health needs. You will work under a Registered Nurse and help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment at Rhode Island Hospital during night shifts.

The role requires a High School diploma and prior experience in direct patient care or observations. You will assist with daily activities, monitor patient behavior, and collaborate with clinical staff to ensure patient

Qualifications

• Experience in direct patient care or observation preferred.
• Ability to work night shift and follow safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct or indirect patient observation as assigned.
• Report changes in patient condition to nursing staff promptly.
• Monitor and document patient behavior, mood, and activity per protocols.
• Assist patients with daily activities as needed.
• De-escalate situations using approved verbal techniques to maintain safety.
• Participate in staff development and meetings as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe care environment and protect patient privacy.
