Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Attendant to provide non-clinical support for patients requiring observations in a hospital setting.

Under RN direction, this role supports patients with daily activities, monitors behavior, and maintains safety and confidentiality in Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, RI. The shift is day, with M-F and alternating weekends/holidays, and pay ranges from $21.09 to $22.04 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in direct patient care or patient observations, or completion of one year of related education in human services.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct or indirect observations of patients.
• Report changes in patient condition to nursing or clinical staff promptly.
• Maintain patient safety and dignity while assisting with daily activities.
• Engage patients with compassionate interaction and activities per training.
• De-escalate situations using approved verbal techniques to ensure safety.

Education

1 year of progressive education in a human services-related field
