Job summary

Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC is seeking an Anesthesia Technician II to support pediatric surgical cases. You will prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment, assist the anesthesia team, and ensure safe patient care in the operating rooms.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS, and 3 years of experience with pediatric or cardiac anesthesia settings. CNH curriculum or ASATT credentials are preferred, with opportunities to advance within Perioperative Services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an approved Anesthesia Technician curriculum (CNH preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician.
• 1 year pediatric, trauma, and cardiac experience preferred.
• BLS certification required; ASATT preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Speak/read/write the primary language used in the workplace.
• Collaborate with the Anesthesia team to plan and deliver care.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and maintain anesthesia equipment for pediatric procedures.
• Prepare operating rooms and anesthetizing locations for procedures.
• Stock anesthesia supplies and ensure equipment availability and function.
• Support anesthesiologists, anesthesia assistants and trainees as needed.
• Assist in patient transport and related environmental services.
• Ensure aseptic technique and infection control across locations.
• Troubleshoot anesthesia machines and monitoring equipment.
• Coordinate with Biomed for equipment maintenance and repairs.
