Job summary

Children's National Hospital seeks an Anesthesia Technician II to support pediatric surgical patients. You will prepare equipment and work areas, set up monitoring devices, and assist anesthesia teams during complex cases including cardiac and trauma procedures.

The position emphasizes maintaining anesthesia supplies, collaborating with the anesthesia team, and upholding sterility and safety standards across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an approved anesthesia technician curriculum, or CNH Anesthesia Technician curriculum (Preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years Anesthesia Technician experience (Required).
• 1 year Pediatrics, Trauma and Cardiac experience (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Maintains and organizes the anesthesia environment and supplies to facilitate departmental function.
• Prepares operating room and off-site locations for indicated procedures, including setup and calibration of equipment.
• Sets up, calibrates, and ensures integrity of monitoring devices and airway equipment.
• Assists the anesthesiologist in induction, intubation, extubation, and arterial cannulation.
• Maintains stock of disposable and durable medical equipment across anesthetizing locations.
• Ensures aseptic technique and infection control standards.
• Assists with patient transport to the OR.
