Job summary

Yale New Haven Health Services Corp. seeks an Assistant Patient Services Manager (APSM) to lead a defined patient services area, ensuring safe, high-quality, and efficient care 24/7.

This role collaborates with charge nurses, bedside teams, and other clinicians to optimize patient flow, staffing, and financial performance while advancing PFCC standards. The APSM will model transformational leadership, oversee staffing responsiveness, and drive improvements in patient safety and service delivery,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; one degree must be in nursing.
• Master's degree preferred (nursing-related).
• Two years of clinical nurse experience and a minimum of 1 year leadership/supervisory experience.
• Current CT state RN licensure and/or eligibility; certification preferred or willing to obtain within 18 months of hire.
• Ability to direct a diverse workforce in a 24/7 operational environment and promote service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Serve as clinical leader, collaborating with the charge nurse and medical teams to ensure safe patient flow.
• Ensure safe staffing levels and clinical competence to provide excellent nursing care.
• Participate in unit financial forecasting and the financial well-being of the organization.
• Promote quality and safety, modeling exemplary professional practice and PFCC.
• Lead service excellence initiatives and monitor adherence to standards across the unit.
• Support 24/7 oversight of staffing and operations within the service line.
