Job summary

Yale New Haven Health seeks an Assistant Patient Services Manager (APSM) to lead nursing units, optimize patient flow, and ensure safe, high-quality care around the clock. You will collaborate with charge nurses, medical teams, and support staff to optimize staffing, workforce effectiveness, and financial outcomes in a dynamic clinical environment.

A BSN is required, with an MSN preferred, and CT RN licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred (one degree must be in nursing).
• Two years of clinical nurse experience and a minimum of 1 year leadership/supervisory experience.
• Current CT state RN licensure and/or eligibility for CT state RN licensure required. Specialty certification preferred or willing to obtain within 18 months of hire.
• Ability to direct a diverse workforce in a 24 hour per day operational environment; leadership through innovation, technology, and best practices.
• PACU and/or ICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead patient flow across units in collaboration with the charge nurse, bed management and medical teams to ensure safe, efficient care.
• Ensure safe staffing levels and clinical competence; provide direct patient care as needed.
• Participate in unit strategies to support financial well-being and awareness of the financial impact of operations.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and PFCC; conduct regular rounding to ensure visibility and improvement.
• Model and uphold service excellence standards to achieve superior patient and family experiences.
• Oversee outpatient urology patient flow under APSM direction to maintain safety and efficiency.
