Job summary

Children's National Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician to work with the multidisciplinary team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include basic nursing tasks, patient safety, ADLs, meal and nutrition support, and patient flow coordination in a pediatric setting.

Minimum education is a high school diploma or GED with at least 1 year of healthcare experience, preferably in pediatrics, plus CPR/BLS and NICU/CPCT eligibility.

Qualifications

• CNA/EMT/CPCT certification is required
• BLS certification required
• High School Diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care under RN direction
• Assist in maintaining safe, clean patient care areas
• Support patient flow and staff as needed
• Take and document vital signs and measurements
• Assist with ADLs and patient comfort tasks
• Assist with discharge and room turnover
• Maintain infection control practices and hand hygiene
