Job summary

Pediatric Specialty Care in Point Pleasant, PA seeks a caring Activities Assistant to plan and run 1:1 and group activities for medically fragile children. You will work under a Recreational Therapist to create engaging, developmentally appropriate programs that support social and emotional growth.

Ideal candidates are patient, creative, and passionate about helping children of varying developmental levels.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited high school or GED.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Artistic background or prior instruction from a certified activity consultant.
• Ability to lead group programs.
• Experience in activities department in long term care or hospital setting.
• English language reading/writing at intermediate level or higher.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and lead 1:1 and group activities.
• Support community life programming on and off campus.
• Adapt activities to meet each child’s abilities.
• Encourage participation and build positive relationships.
• Assist with care plans and ADL support as needed.
• Document participation and engagement accurately.
