Job summary

Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital is seeking a Child Life and Therapeutic Recreation Assistant to Coordinate play, leisure and developmental activities for pediatric patients 0–21 years old.

The role supports patient care through age-appropriate activities and collaboration with the rehabilitation team. Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, supervising volunteers, and documenting progress in the EMR.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 12 college credits in child life, therapeutic recreation or related field.
• CPR may be obtained within three months of employment.
• At least 3 months or 120 hours of experience with children; pediatric hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist and coordinate play, leisure and developmental activities for patients aged 0–21.
• Document patient behaviors and progress in the electronic medical record.
• Supervise volunteers and assist in training interns or students.
• Maintain inventory and maintenance of toy supplies and equipment within Rehabilitation Department areas.
• Demonstrate excellence in customer service and effective communication with patients, families and staff.
