Job summary

Yamad in South Charleston, OH is seeking a PE Technician - Tooling for the 1st shift to ensure production lines have the necessary tools and hardware. The role tracks tooling conditions, stocks line-side cabinets, and processes tooling quotes and returns.

You will enter items in inventory, assist with tooling setup, and maintain accurate records using a scanner. Benefits include life insurance, 401(k), sign-on bonus, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Check tooling usage and inventories to generate requisitions.
• Restock line-side tooling cabinets Monday–Friday.
• Receive tooling into main storage and update records.
• Enter tooling items into the inventory database.
• Obtain new tooling quotes and file by company name.
• Collect used tooling and dispose of it properly.
• Ship and receive tooling for regrind.
• Assist production with tooling setup and troubleshooting.
• Record damaged tools and maintain correct inventory levels.

PE Technician - Tooling 1st Shift

Job Description: This position exists to ensure that all YNA production lines have the tools and related hardware needed to make parts. Tracks lineside tooling conditions. collects, and reviews damaged tools.

Essential Functions

• Check weekly, the current tooling usage and inventories to generate MSR purchase requisitions.
• Check and restock line-side tooling cabinets both at the start and end of first shift, Monday through Friday.
• Confirmation and receiving of tooling to the main tooling storage cabinets.
• Enter and update tooling items in inventory data base.
• Obtain new or updated tooling quotes, enter them into MSR, and file by company name.
• Collect used tooling from production lines, sort and dispose of correctly.
• Ship and receive tooling for regrind.
• Assist production with tooling set up and troubleshooting abnormal tooling issues.
• Record damage tools recovered from red tote.
• Utilize scanner system to maintain correct inventory levels.

Other Functions

• Maintain weekly, monthly, and yearly tooling expense totals.
• Make and keep current tooling labels on main and lineside cabinets.
• Gather information for monthly tooling inventory.
• Notify immediate supervisor as soon as possible of any unusual tool usage and possible tool shortages that would impact YNA production lines.

Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: General understanding of various products produced on all YNA production lines, various types of tools, and their usage is preferred.

Skills: Ability to operate computers; experience with Windows, Word, Excel, general office equipment, label maker, various carts, measuring instruments and weighing scales is preferred. Willing to train as necessary

Working Conditions: Ability to work in a climate-controlled office, walk on concrete floors, lift to 40 pounds, perform repetitive keystrokes on a continual basis, and occasionally bend, kneel, twist and reach.
