  • Ability to analyze data, understand process flow, read drawings, program machinery, report data, write work instructions, and use quality control tools.
  • Organizational, interpersonal, and computer skills; able to work in a team.

PE Technician - CNC 1st Shift

Job Summary

This position enhances the production process by optimizing cycle time and quality through process improvement activities, cycle time studies and root cause analysis.

Essential Functions
  • CNC manual programming and editing is the primary responsibility.
  • Adjust and repair machining fixtures.
  • Test tools to increase tool life, quality and cost improvement
  • Apply countermeasures for quality issues.
  • Evaluate and make process improvements. (CT, stability, quality etc.)
  • Adjusts machines to accommodate changes in Die Cast conditions or other change factors.
  • Participates in line improvement activities through analyzing process flow, making recommendations to improve process flow while * considering economic and production constraints and requirements.
  • Completes project activities as directed by senior management, requiring both data analysis and follow up.
  • Creates reports to show progress of improvement activities, including situation analysis and countermeasure activity.
Other Functions
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment.
  • Maintains working relationship with production associates.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelors or Associates degree in Industrial or Process Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or related field preferred.

Experience: This position requires 1-3 years engineering experience in a mass production, manufacturing environment. Must have CNC Programming experience. Experience with aluminum die cast parts preferred.

Skills: This position requires the ability to analyze data, understand process flow, read drawings, program machinery, report data, write work instructions, and use quality control tools including calipers and micrometers. Organization, interpersonal, and computer skills, and the ability to work in a team environment are also required.

Working Conditions: The position requires the ability to work in a climate controlled office, a shop floor environment, walk on concrete floors, lift up to 40 pounds, perform repetitive keystrokes on a continual basis, and occasionally bend, kneel, twist, and reach.
