Job summary

Sure Steel, Inc. is seeking a Sales Structural Engineer who will blend engineering know-how with commercial acumen to win structural steel projects.

The role focuses on pursuit activities, technical development, and shaping solutions during preconstruction while coordinating with estimating, preconstruction, fabrication, and erection teams. The position emphasizes translating project requirements into defined scope, pricing, and execution strategies, serving as the technical face in client

Qualifications

Must hold an active PE license.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Strong knowledge of structural steel systems, fabrication, and erection.
Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, specs, and contracts.
Experience with steel means and methods, including erection sequencing.
Excellent communication to explain technical concepts.

Responsibilities

Review bid documents including structural drawings, specs, and contracts.
Identify scope gaps, exclusions, clarifications, and risk items for structural steel fabrication and erection.
Support estimating with technical input including temporary works and crane logistics.
Assist in pricing strategy by cost and risk drivers.
Participate in go/no-go evaluations and pursuit planning.
Serve as technical representative in meetings with owners, GCs, architects, and engineers.
Present and defend proposed steel solutions and methods.
Translate client goals into constructible, cost-effective steel solutions.
Coordinate with estimating, fabrication, erection, and project management teams.
Document assumptions, exclusions, and scope definitions for turnover.
