Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a seller-doer engineer with a Professional Engineer license who can pitch testing programs to owners, design firms, and contractors while reviewing data and sealing reports. You balance business development with technical workload and own the client relationships you win.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in the posting state or by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection.
• Proven track record of bringing in work or credible plan to do so.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to bad contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on the projects you win: review data, seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors on projects and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
