Job summary

Consor is seeking a Roadway Design Engineer to apply civil/structural principles to transportation projects, under guidance of senior engineers. You will contribute to roadway and multimodal design and begin taking ownership of tasks while building professional judgment and project experience.

You will work in a hybrid office/field environment, preparing design plans, applying standards, and coordinating with teams and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 5-10+ years of transportation engineering experience with TxDOT projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Proficiency in Microstation ORD, AutoCad, and Civil3D software.
• Proposal writing/marketing experience is a plus.
• Hybrid office/field work environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review design plans, calculations, and technical reports for roadway and multimodal projects.
• Apply engineering standards and codes to ensure accuracy and compliance in design work.
• Support coordination with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and reviewing agencies.
• Perform design analyses, cost estimates, and quantity takeoffs for assigned project components.
• Assist in quality assurance reviews and respond to design review comments or field questions.
