Job summary

First Choice Nurses is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) with PCU experience for per diem hospital opportunities in the Hampton Roads area, Virginia. Earn competitive per diem pay and choose shifts that fit your schedule, including day and night options, with daily or weekly pay options.

Active Virginia RN license and at least 2 years of recent PCU experience are required, along with current BLS, ACLS, and TB test within the past year. Vaccination or approved exemption is also required.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current BLS - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other specialized equipment required for PCU patients.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Adapt professionally to different hospital environments and unit needs.
