Job summary

First Choice Nurses in Virginia is hiring experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital shifts across Hampton Roads. You can pick shifts that fit your life, with options from 7a-7p and 7p-7a and the ability to be paid daily or weekly.

Active Virginia RN license and 2+ years PCU experience are required, along with BLS, ACLS, and TB gold testing within 12 months. Vaccination or approved exemption is required. Competitive per diem pay and responsive local staffing support are offered.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current AHA BLS.
• Current AHA ACLS.
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.
• Additional credentials may be required based on facility assignment.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions.
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status.
• Administering medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments.
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Following facility infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans.
• Adapting professionally to different hospital units and environments.
