Job summary

First Choice Nurses is hiring experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital shifts throughout Hampton Roads, Virginia. You can pick up shifts that fit your life and workload, with options like 7a-7p or 7p-7a and daily or weekly pay.

Active Virginia RN license and 2 years PCU experience required, with BLS/ACLS and TB testing up to date; vaccination or exemption accepted. Per diem pay is competitive and you control your schedule.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current AHA BLS.
• Current AHA ACLS.
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.
• Additional credentials may be required based on facility assignment.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions.
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status.
• Administering medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments.
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Following facility infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans.
• Adapting professionally to different hospital units and environments.
