First Choice Nurses is actively seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital opportunities throughout the Hampton Roads area. You choose when you work, whether a little or a fuller schedule, enjoying the flexibility of per diem nursing in leading acute care hospital settings.

Per diem roles offer day or night shifts with competitive pay, daily and weekly pay options, and easy mobile scheduling. We are locally owned and have served the region for more than 15 years.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN License.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing within the past 4 years.
• Current BLS - American Heart Association.
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association.
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.
• Additional credentials may be required based on hospital assignment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other equipment for PCU patients.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Follow hospital infection-control and patient-safety guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Adapt professionally to different hospital environments and unit needs.
