First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is actively seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital opportunities across Hampton Roads. You choose when you work, whether you want an occasional shift or a fuller schedule.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification.
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other PCU equipment.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Follow hospital infection-control and patient-safety guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Adapt to different hospital environments and unit needs.
