Job summary

First Choice Nurses is hiring experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital shifts across Hampton Roads, Virginia. You select shifts and work when it suits you, with a pay range of $56.25-$57.25 per hour and daily/weekly pay options.

As a PCU RN, you will provide high-quality acute-care patient care, monitor cardiac rhythms, administer medications, and collaborate with care teams while maintaining EMR documentation and adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license
• Minimum 2 years of PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years
• Current AHA BLS certification
• Current AHA ACLS certification
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption
• Additional credentials may be required based on facility assignment

Responsibilities

• Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status
• Administering medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records
• Following facility infection-control and patient-safety standards
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans
• Adapting professionally to different hospital units and environments
