Job summary
First Choice Nurses is hiring experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital shifts throughout Hampton Roads, Virginia, with 7a-7p and 7p-7a options. You choose shifts that fit your life and receive competitive per diem pay.
As a PCU RN, you will provide high-quality patient care in acute-care hospitals, monitor cardiac rhythms, administer medications, collaborate with care teams, maintain EMRs, and educate patients and families on discharge plans.
Qualifications
- Active Virginia RN license required.
- Minimum 2 years of PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
- QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.
Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records.
- Follow infection-control and patient-safety standards.
- Educate patients and families regarding care and discharge plans.
- Adapt to different hospital units and environments.
