Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is hiring experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital shifts throughout Hampton Roads, Virginia. Shifts 7a-7p and 7p-7a are available, giving you the freedom to choose when you work.

As a PCU RN you will assess and monitor patients, administer medications, document in EMR, and collaborate with care teams in acute-care hospitals. Per diem pay is competitive with weekly or daily pay options, and you can build a schedule that fits your life.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license
• 2 years of PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years
• AHA BLS Current
• AHA ACLS Current
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption

Responsibilities

• Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status
• Administering medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records
• Following facility infection-control and patient-safety standards
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans
• Adapting professionally to different hospital units and environments
