Job summary

Endeavor Health's Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL invites applications for a Patient Care Technician in the Pulmonary Medicine Unit. This full-time position covers night shifts from 6:30 pm to 7:00 am, with rotating holidays/weekends, and a pay range based on experience.

You will perform patient care tasks under the direction of a registered nurse, provide comfort and safety, and participate in care activities designed to support recovery and well-being of patients.

Qualifications

• CPR certification required by either American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of patient care experience or equivalent.
• Completion of a care companion course within six months of hire if required by the department.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care tasks under the direction of an RN and according to established procedures.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety through basic care activities.
• Assist with activities of daily living and provide support as part of the care team.

Full Time: 36 hour work week

Hours: Night Shift: 6:30 pm - 7:00 am

Rotating Holidays/Weekends

Hourly Pay Range: $19.71 - $28.58 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

What you will do:

The Patient Care Tech, under the directions of a Registered Nurse (RN) and, according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients.

What you will need:

• Education: N/A
• Certification: Current CPR Certification issues by either American Heart Associates or American Red Cross
• Experience: Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation
• Successful completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when course is required by the department.

Unique or Preferred Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions.
