Job summary

The Endeavor Health Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus is hiring a Patient Care Technician for the Observation Unit. You will assist RN staff and perform patient care tasks to support comfort and safety during day shifts.

This full-time role offers a 7:00am–7:30pm schedule, 36 hours weekly, every third weekend and holiday track, and benefits including health options, tuition reimbursement, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• CPR Certification issued by the American Heart Association is required.
• Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation.
• Complete the Care Companion Course within six months of hire if required by the department.

Position Highlights

• Position: Patient Care Technician - Observation Unit
• Location: Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus - 155 E. Brush Hill Rd., Elmhurst, IL 60126
• Full-Time: 36/hr per week
• Hours: 7:00am-7:30pm with every 3rd weekend and holiday track

What You Will Do

The Patient Care Tech, under the directions of a Registered Nurse (RN) and, according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients.

What You Will Need

• Education: N/A
• Certification: Current CPR Certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience: Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation
• Successful completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when course is required by the department.
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions.
