Job summary

Endeavor Health's Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the CV Unit on nights. This full-time role offers 36 hours per week with 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. shifts, including 4–5 weekends in a 6-week period and rotating holidays.

Under RN supervision, you perform patient care tasks to support safety, comfort and well-being, requiring current CPR certification and completion of CNA training or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Current CPR Certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of patient care experience or equivalent.
• Completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when course is required by the department.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork and the ability to prioritize and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with patient care tasks to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Provide basic nursing assistant duties per established procedures.
• Float to inpatient units as needed, including PCCU, per assignment.

Hourly Pay Range:

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Patient Care Technician -CV Unit - Nights
• Location: Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus - 155 E. Brush Hill Rd., Elmhurst, IL 60126
• Full Time: 36 hours per week
• Hours: 7pm-7:30a.m.am (4-5 weekends in a 6 week period) and rotating holiday track
• Call: If census is low and not needed in other areas
• Required Travel: no
• Float: Could float to any inpatient unit including PCCU

What you will do:

The Patient Care Tech, under the directions of a Registered Nurse (RN) and, according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients.

What you will need:

• Education: N/A
• Certification: Current CPR Certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience: Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six monthsof previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation
• Successful completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when course is required by the department.
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions.
