Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the CV Unit on the night shift at Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus (Elmhurst, IL). Position is full-time (36 hours/week) with 7pm-7:30am shifts, and 4-5 weekends in a 6-week period, plus rotating holidays.

CPR certification and nursing assistant training or equivalent required. The role involves assisting RNs, caring for patients, and potentially floating to other inpatient units as needed.

Qualifications

• CPR certification from AHA is required.
• Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant program or six months of patient care experience or equivalent.
• Ability to work nights and float to inpatient units as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care duties under RN supervision.
• Assist with comfort and safety needs of patients.
• Follow established procedures to support patient care tasks.

Hourly Pay Range: $19.71 - $28.58 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

Position: Patient Care Technician -CV Unit - Nights

Location: Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus - 155 E. Brush Hill Rd., Elmhurst, IL 60126

Full Time: 36 hours per week

Hours: 7pm-7:30a.m.am (4-5 weekends in a 6 week period) and rotating holiday track

Call: If census is low and not needed in other areas

Required Travel: no

Float: Could float to any inpatient unit including PCCU

What you will do

The Patient Care Tech, under the directions of a Registered Nurse (RN) and, according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients.

What you will need

• Education: N/A
• Certification: Current CPR Certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience: Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation Successful completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when course is required by the department.
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions.
