Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Marlborough, MA is seeking a Patient Care Tech III for a 32‑hour schedule in the Emergency Department. You will work under licensed clinicians to support patient care, safety, and daily living activities, with opportunities to cover unit secretary, telemetry, and remote monitoring duties.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, current BLS, English proficiency, strong communication and computer skills, and either 1 year of acute care/hospital experience or

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Able to read, write and communicate in English clearly.
Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

Provide patient care under the supervision of a licensed clinician.
Communicate observations to the RN, including changes in vital signs or skin condition.
Assist with activities of daily living and repositioning of patients.
Maintain safety and de-escalate situations; assist with restraints when trained.
Support unit secretary duties or telemetry/remote monitoring as assigned.
