Job summary

Elmhurst Memorial Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Inpatient General Pulmonary Unit on the Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus, 155 E. Brush Hill Rd., Elmhurst, IL 60126.

This full-time role offers 36 hours per week across three 12-hour shifts from 7am to 7:30pm, with every 3rd weekend rotation and holiday tracking. Under RN supervision, you will perform patient care tasks to ensure patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent
• Current CPR Certification issued by American Heart Association
• Completion of Care Companion Course within six months of hire when required by department
• Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork and the ability to prioritize and follow directions

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Tech performs patient care tasks under the directions of an RN to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients.

Hourly Pay Range: $18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

What you will do

The Patient Care Tech, under the directions of a Registered Nurse (RN) and, according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients.

What you will need

Education: N/A

Certification: Current CPR Certification issued by American Heart Association

Experience: Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation Successful completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when course is required by the department.

Unique or Preferred Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions.
