Job summary

PeerStar is seeking a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) in Pennsylvania to help individuals overcome mental health obstacles through shared experience. You will provide hope, understanding, and empowerment while fostering meaningful friendships.

This role can be full-time or part-time and requires an active PCB CPS certification, the ability to attest to a mental health diagnosis, and the capacity to document using an iPad; a driver’s license and reliable transportation are also required.

Qualifications

• Active PCB CPS certification is required.
• Must attest to having a mental health diagnosis and be at a point in recovery to support others.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Must have 6 months of consecutive employment or volunteer work; OR 12 months in last 3 years of paid/volunteer experience.
• Ability to use an iPad for documentation.
• Must have a driver’s license and reliable transportation.

• Provide hope and empowerment to individuals through shared lived experience in 1:1 peer support.
• Promote empowerment, self-determination, and recovery-oriented goals.
• Build trust with peers and offer tools to support growth.

Qualifications:

• Must have an active Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) certification through the Pennsylvania Certification Board (PCB).
• Must be able to attest to having a mental health diagnosis and have reached a point in their recovery pathway where they can positively support others in similar situations
• Eighteen (18) years of age and older.
• Must have maintained 6 months of consecutive employment or volunteer work experience; OR within the last three (3) years, have maintained at least 12 months of successful full or part-time paid or volunteer work experience.
• Ability to use iPad for documentation.
• Must have a driver's license and reliable transportation.
