Job summary

AMERISAFE in DeRidder, LA is seeking a detail-oriented IT support professional to maintain and troubleshoot computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. You will install, diagnose, repair, and upgrade hardware while ensuring peak workstation performance and user training where needed.

The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, familiarity with networks, operating systems, and strong communication skills to assist non-technical users in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of applicable experience or comparable education.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree and/or relevant technical certifications are a plus.
• Hands-on hardware/software troubleshooting experience.
• Working knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards.
• Ability to read manuals and OEM guides.
• Ability to assemble and configure computers and peripherals.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Good communication with coworkers, management, and non-technical users.
• Customer-service oriented attitude and flexibility for extended hours/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service requests to diagnose and fix equipment issues.
• Service copiers, printers, and faxes including toner and rollers.
• Install, configure, test, and maintain end-user workstation hardware and networking hardware.
• Install, configure, test, and maintain associated software and networking software.
• Assist in maintaining inventory of computers, monitors, keyboards, printers, and peripherals.
• Follow policies and legal requirements and document support activities promptly.
