Job summary

Nationwide Children’s Hospital is seeking a PBX operator to manage multi-line phones, relay emergency messages, and route calls to the appropriate departments and personnel. Responsibilities include greeting visitors, maintaining call records, assisting in training new staff, and providing general information while remaining calm under pressure and upholding confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Six months PBX operator experience or one year with multi-line phones preferred.

Job Description Summary

Answers all incoming calls, relays emergency messages by announcing various alerts and warnings over the paging system, contacts personnel as necessary and directs them where they are needed, and reports any telephone problems.
